CORPORATE DNA – Rush to market

A cosmetics company advertises its eye serum as ‘inspired by DNA research’, but most companies use it to imply that certain good values are embedded in their nature. I found this fun read on what corporate DNA means exactly from a genomic researcher, in a straight-faced kind of scientific way (with tongue in cheek):

  • A lot of our company is unfathomable to the human mind
  • There’s a lot of redundancy here

And my favorite:

  • Our corporate practices are not the best designable, but rather reflect an accumulation of historical accidents

This at least makes the company human.
